Privacy Policy

Retropaste owns Ersa Chords and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy (the data controller). “We” and “us” mean Retropaste. This policy explains how we handle information when you use the Ersa iPhone and iPad app, visit ersachords.com, or contact us. For privacy questions, email hello@ersachords.com.
Using the app
Ersa works without an account. The app does not send your musical performances, saved presets or settings to us. It contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs, and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Sound generation and looping take place on your device. Ersa does not request microphone access or record your surroundings. If you enable MIDI output, musical messages are sent through Apple’s MIDI system to connected apps or destinations; how those destinations handle the messages is governed by their own settings and policies.
Information on your device
Ersa stores preferences, saved presets and restorable app state locally. Local diagnostic logs may contain technical information about app operation. These are not automatically uploaded to an Ersa server.
You can remove saved presets using the app’s controls. Deleting the app, rather than offloading it, removes its local app data. Copies in device backups are managed separately through Apple’s backup settings. Ersa does not operate its own cloud storage or synchronisation service.
Support messages
If you email us, we receive your email address, any name supplied by your email service, your message and any attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond, investigate problems and provide support. Please avoid sending sensitive information or recordings containing other people’s personal information.
Support correspondence is handled through our email service provider. We keep it only for as long as needed to resolve your enquiry, handle related follow-up or meet legal obligations. You can request deletion by emailing hello@ersachords.com.
Website visits
Our website is hosted by Cloudflare. When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical request information, such as your IP address, the requested page, browser information and request time, to deliver and protect the website. This is separate from using the Ersa app offline.
Our website code does not add advertising cookies or analytics scripts. Hosting and security services may process operational logs under their own retention practices. Read Cloudflare’s privacy policy for information about its processing, international operations and safeguards.
Apple services
Apple handles App Store downloads and payments. We do not receive your payment-card details. Apple may make sales reports, diagnostics and crash reports available to developers under its services and your sharing settings. TestFlight may also provide beta-testing information and feedback. These services are governed by Apple’s privacy policy; you can manage diagnostic sharing in your device settings.
How and why information is used
Where data protection law applies, we rely on our legitimate interests in answering support enquiries and operating a secure website, and on legal obligations where we must retain information. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Information is shared only as needed with service providers that deliver the website and email support, or where required by law. These services may process information outside your country. Their privacy information describes the protections they use.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal information, restrict its use, object to processing, or receive a portable copy. Contact hello@ersachords.com to make a request. We may need to verify your identity, and some rights have legal exceptions. We cannot access app data that remains only on your device.
You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our practices change and revise the date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before introducing new uses of personal information.
